Keynote speaker State Rep. Patricia Fleming told the audience of 177 people, “Arizona is now in one of the darkest times in our history.” Recent budget cuts “have unfairly asked professional educators to do more with less.”
But out of the darkness emerges an opportunity for school districts to “create a new paradigm for cooperation among educators and other entities,” Fleming said.
She thanked teachers for their work and dedication. “There are people who know and appreciate what you do and who recognize the challenges you face,” she said…
